What major are you applying to?

You definitely have the academics necessary for the schools. I would be surprised if you did not make it to NYU as the top 50% have a SAT an avg. of 2007 (2165-1850). Your ECs show dedication, however, it looks a bit messy and I cannot determine your exact passion or interests. You definitely show that you are a capable leader and dedicated to your community.

You have good chances at Columbia and Princeton, but they are reaches for everyone. For NYU, I think it is a match, but I have not done a lot of chances thread so bear with me that these may not be wholly accurate.

I’m either going pre-med, biomedical engineering, or genetic engineering. I won’t be applying for aid either, and will most probably will be applying to Columbia ED. Would that change anything?

Yeah, my ECs are pretty diverse :S, but it’s just because I’m interested in so many things! Now I’m worried that my ECs don’t show relative passion toward medicine. Would it help to say that my father is a well known doctor with prestigious awards and publications? I guess it wouldn’t count for much though… v.v :S
More thoughts??

so you actually took those AP classes right and didn’t just take the AP tests for them? If you took the classes then I’d say in for NYU, most likely in for columbia, and honestly princeton’s a *ing reach for everyone but you have a decent shot so chillll dude lol btw how the * did you handle all those extracurriculars?! ****! lol

He self-studied them all Chandler… rather impressive. I’m guessng in your school you can’t take AP classes until you’re a senior? So you’re probably tied with a bunch of other students that have gotten straight A’s?

@Kieran: Yeah ^.^" 'Tis a shame my school doesn’t offer them until senior year.
Oh and thanks! @all! blushes I’ll admit I really don’t have my of a social life outside of my ECs and studies, but it doesn’t bother me all too much
Thanks for all the answers! I really appreciate it!!

Your scores are top notch. Every year, many ivy leagues go through multiple steps in the application process and they accept 10 % of apps about based on top notch applications before reject 20 % and sending the remainder to a second reading. I feel like you are only low reaches for your columbia, etc and everywhere else you’re in, especially if you can get some more leadership/focus with your ecs. chance be back please! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1184427-chance-me-stanford-etc.html#post12987422

oh yeahh way for me to not read the whole thing lol well dude i think u’ll be fine, try not to stress urself out and don’t forget you’re only young once so don’t be afraid to ease up a little and have some fun! just saying cause i know soo many people like you. college is important but not enough to lose your whole teenage life over just in my opinion

Thanks Chandler! Feeling a lot more confident in applying now And yeah, we’re young once, so we should make the most out of it. :D

for suure and you should feel confident! omg real talk dude which is why once you’re at columbia you better rage it at all those NYC hot spots!! hahaha omg i’m a horrible influence but whatever. basically just don’t turn into one of those people who looks back on their college life and all they can remember is studying, working, and being exhausted all the time because there’s just no way that can really be what makes you happy.
