All activities since freshman year.
• Job/Work Experience: NIH Biomedical Internship at National Cancer Institute (9 wks)
• Volunteer/Community service: 200 hrs of volunteering/ job shadowing at local hospital—Got US Congressional Silver Medal for those hrs + 300 hrs of other community service)
• Summer Activities: Duke University TIP- Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Ethics, HOBY, LeadAmerica, Accepted to Governor’s School (Medicine)
• Counselor Rec: Got to know him well…should also be good.

<p>I agree with the above poster, you have a decent shot at HYPS. However, you can never be too confident in your chances at these schools because of how unpredictable admissions at these schools are. Good luck!</p>

<p>Again, how can a junior me a National Merit Finalist? The graduating class of 2012 won’t find out if they are semi-finalists until September of next year, so that’s impossible…</p>
