<p>Hi everyone! Sorry for adding to the overwhelming amount of people asking what their chances are, but UNC is the only school I'm applying early for and I'm curious how well I currently stand. I'm a white male from NY looking to apply Early Action.</p>
<p>My weighted GPA is 103.88, unweighted is a bit above 98 (we go by 100 scale here in NY). </p>
<p>My composite ACT is a 34, if you need more details about that I can look them up later.</p>
<p>I've taken 5 AP tests so far (Euro, Lit, English Lang., US, and Calc) and got 5's on all except Euro, which I got a 4. I'm two years ahead in math so I took Calc junior year.</p>
<p>I'm in NHS, National English HS, and am an AP Scholar with Distinction. I've been an active contributor to the school's award winning literary magazine and newspaper since freshman year, and I currently tutor in and out of school. I've racked up over 100 hours as an assistant catechist at my local parish since Freshman year, teaching Catholic education to children in the local community. I also frequently work at the local swim club as a timer for the children, and have worked the past two summers for my family's business.</p>
<p>I am in the inaugural class of my school's scientific research program, GENESIS. I am currently working on a research project that will be submitted to Intel called "The Social Context of Personality," and I've worked with mentors from local universities to help me along the way.</p>
<p>And finally, I do a lot of other things that would fall in the Additional Information section. I write and critique poetry online, I have over 60 poems currently published. I actually wrote and self-published a poetry book on Amazon that has sold over 50 copies in print and on Kindle platforms. I learned the process of myself over the course of last year. Also, I make piano covers on Youtube and Soundcloud, which have over 650,000 total plays. I collaborated with a distributor, gained the necessary licenses and published one of my covers on iTunes and Spotify, which has sold over 50 copies as well. </p>
<p>So there you have it. Sorry if that was a lot, this is just extremely important to me. I am confident in my essays and my letters, so I think they will be up to my own personal standards. I want to major in psychology and possibly minor in theology or english. Am I in good shape? Also, do you think I would be a competitive candidate for Honors Carolina or other merit scholarships?
