Hey fellow transfer and transfer hopeful's! I hope ya'll are doing well. I am awesome and I thought I would write another blog.

So most decisions are coming out(like Ricky Martin lol). UNC-chapel hill, NYU, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Washington University in St. Louis, to name a few.

I noticed a lot of people are getting life altering decisions and I am really happy for everyone! Finally, our waiting and filling out a bunch of forms is paying off (seriously, midterm report, common app, supplement, college transcripts, etc lol might as well have asked for a DNA sample too)

soo yeah. At my current school, I realized its my time to leave. I made a lot of friends here and enjoy being in new york city (going to be a change in ithaca). I am doing my best to make efforts to make last hangouts with my friends and finish up sight seeing in this place(im going to see the statue of liberty soon woot!)

I am a bit said I am leaving, but happy at the same time. NYU has been pretty good to me in some aspects. I know a lot of you don't like your present institution one bit, but I think there is at least one good friend or thing you guys might miss about leaving. I would say to concentrate and that and make the most out of your time.

and for those of you who didn't get in to where they wanted to, I offer my condolences. But remember, we are transfers and hoping and doing is what we do. We are undeniably tough; we to go through waiting and forms and hassle and not telling friends etc. So if you can apply again, apply again. Schools love interest and applying time and time again might show it. But i recommend learning your mistakes and not repeating them. I was fortunate enough to get into my dream school the first transfer round. Cornell was my dream since high school and I stuck with it, and finally got it. Anything is possible guys. I really didn't deserve admission to cornell based on my stats but got it anyways. Dreams can come true :D Just keep hoping.

congrats castiel! hope that wild frat parties, drunk hookups, and the grandeur thereof abound at your beloved cornell moreover, i hope that the academics better fit your scholarly agenda as i know that that was one of your main reasons for transferring out

get there super early or something for the statue of liberty. last time i waited FIVE hours to get on the freaking ferry… it was a wednesday morning, too :/

haha and don’t say you don’t deserve it based on your stats!! There had to be something outstanding on your application for you to truly earn your spot so in any case, congratulations Castiel! :D

@fmhcbc wow man, that sucks! I hope your decisions come asap

@ghetopony: lol thanks man! hahah seems like yesterday I just jumped in the stanford thread since i was bored. GL becoming a tree, you seem like you deserve it!

thanks everyone!!! and haha ok I shall go early to the SOL. And haha I suppose thats true.

@taggart: GL at UNC man, thats an amazing school. I hope you like it there

@crazybandit: I wrote really personal essays, that very extremely specific, i applied to cornell early decision in high school, and I sent pictures with captions of my visit–basically i tried to show as much interest as possible.

The transfer process is exhausting. I had no idea when I started planning for my applications last summer that I would have to expend so much energy this year. Whether we are accepted, waitlisted, or rejected, the fact that we made it through this year is a feat in and of itself.

To those who have not heard yet, I hope you all get in! And if not, don’t lose hope. I, like Castiel, was fortunate enough to get accepted during my first attempt at transferring, and will be eternally grateful to Cornell for offering me admission for next fall. I’m terrified, but super excited.

Plus, I think we all have to admit that we will miss our transfer forums dearly That’s the one downside to this whole process ending.

@TaggartNY - Omg, I never thought about that! If transferring didn’t exist, I would become a very agitated, frustrated, depressed person if I were to stay at my current institution.

And although I have never tried drugs of any sort, I feel confident in saying that receiving a transfer acceptance to a dream school is one of the best highs you can get in this world.

yeah, optimism is definitely important. if transferring didn’t exist, i would be limited to only an A.A. degree. good thing that that is not the case :)

are you pending any other decision letters or was it en route cornell or bust for you?

I am pending decisions from Penn, vanderbilt, uchicago, johns hopkins, etc. but will 99% sure attend cornell. Only reason I am waiting is because I am going to compare FA, if corny gives me a full ride how can i turn it down haha

hey castiel! i might apply to cornell next year if none of my current options work out. i like ILR and CAS but are these two the most difficult to transfer into?? thanks!

thanks hookedongtown! Hopefully you enjoy georgetown and get in so you don’t have too hahah…

but oh yeah no go with ILR. CAS has like a 9 acceptance rate while ILR is more than 5 times that lol. But don’t let the acceptance rate fool you, its inflated because of Guaranteed transfers. Its still way higher than CAS though, so def go with ILR.
