He is a nervous wreck. He applied to the university of Illinois business school. around 3.6 uw gpa and 3.85 w gpa. 31 on the act test with great essays ( from what i read) and i think he had average ec's. Held a job and volunteered, along with a few clubs. Finally his brother and 5 of his cousins currently go or graduated from the university. Please tell me you bring good news.

You might have a better chance getting an answer if you post this in the Univ of Illinois forum:

Good luck!

thanks!!!!

feel free to help anyway. thank in advance

Even if you post on the proper school's forum none of us can give you/him the answer he wants except the admissions committee. That said, his numbers look good for his choice. Good luck, this time next year you will have a whole new set of worries (does it ever end, folks???).

Rather than asking about chances for your son, you might learn more by reading about other peoples journeys. It is quite difficult for any one to predict what is happening in the adcoms office, but it is very helpful to understand how the entire process works by vicariously experiencing the adventures of every one else on the board here.

By now you are probably starting to realize that this is not a great place to ask about chances. Nor will it make much difference what any of us think or say. The application is pending and it is now just a matter of waiting.

This forum is probably most useful when it comes to selecting colleges and trying to find an appropriate fit. There are many who are willing to share their experiences in the college selection and application process and in coping with the transition that will come when the student leaves for college. Few of us are gifted seers, but we can wish you and yours the best of luck.
