hahaha when you say "most religious scholars," to whom are you referring to? or is it just wut you and your enclosed group of students at "one of the best high schools in the nation with the top physics department (US NEWS)" think?

...and you say SMU is the pinnacle of snobbery. please. does anybody sense any irony there?

i'm sure you know a couple BYU students who converted to the Protestant Church. on the same note, i'm pretty sure there are Protestant students who converted to the Mormon Church. you might want to hear what they have to say. hahaha really, let's not pick a religious debate when what you shoot out can be easily caught and be flung right in your face. either way, there are things to be said about mormonism, and things to be said about protestantism. as yucca says, if lds was considered a cult, the catholic church really wouldn't have nothing to say to that. and that includes the protestant church.

yucca, i think wut ww2buff was referring to by "full college" experience may be having extra fun. frats, sororities, drunk parties, booze, you get the picture. texas isn't exactly a place known for its soberness. it's understandable why he might think that way about college. ww2buff, if i'm wrong, my apologies. :)

Texas is a great state, everyone drives truck and goes to church. But you'll probably lose your korean identity. Why?Because Texans know nothing about the outside world and they don't want to. You'll be simply considered Asian.

For Texans,Korea?Who cares?Asians look all the same. Why bother to distinguish?

Yucca, I was referring to statements from high school students who are looking for more than a good education - those into division one sports, traditions, etc. and is why I stated, ". . . which has little to do with education." Heeje, you're right my comment did sound snooty, but I was merely stating what those two sources have said about the high school. Our student body is ethnically diverse and wanted to give you a sense of what colleges they choose to attend. Yes, I agree Heeje, we shouldn't debate religion on this thread. Yucca, as an atheist, I am not sure why you are thinking about a college affiliated with a particular faith. There are so many great colleges in the US and abroad without those affiliations. The bottom line is to do your own research and visit as many colleges as you can. As for Texas . . .hmmm, I wonder why so many people from the "outside world" are relocating to our state.

yucca, i really don't know what you're trying to get at with all those comments about Asians looking the same and Texans knowing nothing about the outside world. was that post supposed to be something relevant to this thread? or were you just trying to offend people? please, if you're looking for a battle of ignorance, you might as well look elsewhere.
ww2buff, i really appreciate your objectivity. thanks for the reasoning, it makes so much more sense than other blatantly ignorant comments. as for where we're from, what ethnicity we are, and what beliefs we hold, i think it'd be better to hold on comments referring to those. just to keep the thread helpful and constructive. ;)
yes, as ww2buff mentioned, yucca, if you're an atheist and don't really hold any religious preferences, it'd be a much better idea and much better use of your time to research other, non religious schools. why look at religious schools when you can have an equally, if not better, academic and college experience at other, nonaffiliated schools?

SEPARATE QUESTION to anybody out there:
wut are you guys thinking of majoring in? or which field are you possibly thinking about? just curious.
