Hi I have turned in my application awhile ago actually, and I put pre vet as my intended major. Should I have chosen that, will it be more competitive with that major? Or should I put somthing similar to pre req. for Vet school, like animal sciences, or zoology. Maybe these major help me to have a better chance of getting in? Can someone help?

I am also concentrating in pre vet area. When I applied for UF, I chose to be a Biology major. As long as you have the prereqs to get into vet school it doesn’t matter what you major in. I basically chose Biology because it knocks away all the prereqs and their upper level courses look interesting. Vet schools are looking for students who have strong science and math backgrounds. Zoology looks interesting too, since many of their classes concentrate on all different species of animals. It does not make you look more competitive to be a prevet major by the way. Vet schools accept all types of students as long as they have the GPA, test scores, and animal experience.
