Also, is there anything I can do in the summer leading up to my Senior year as well as 1st semester senior year that will improve my application?! Thank you so much!
Well, i may not be the best person to answer, but i hope this provides a decent guideline:
University of Michigan (First choice & legacy):Medium/High
Michigan State University: Very High
University of Toronto: N/A (I dont know about schools outside the states sorry)
John Hopkins University:Low (Value GPA A Lot.)
New York University:Medium
Northwestern University:Medium
WashU in STL:High
Boston university:Low/Medium (Value GPA A Lot!)
Drexel University Accelerated MD program: N/A (Dont know much about them either)
Do you think you would be in the top 10% of your hs class?
@mathislife How is WUSTL “high”, JHU “low” and Northwestern “medium”? They all have roughly the same acceptance rate and same GPA and test scores.
OP, it depends on were you are in comparison to your peers. If the highest GPA in your school is a 3.6, then your GPA is amazing relative to your classmates. If there are multiple 4.0s and a lot of students with 3.6+, then it will hurt you.
Your GPA does hurt your chance at UMich a lot. It is the most important admission factor there.
@CaliCash Sorry if you disagree with my opinion, I can see where you are coming from and you may be indeed right.I am simply basing it off of fellow peer members at my school who graduated and applied for the schools listed above. WUSTL seemed to emphasize test scores over GPA as a lot of my peers got in with a 3.6ishGPA W and a 33+ ACT 2100+ish SAT. JHU seemed to only accept fellow peers if there GPA was 3.85ishW and high test grades. And Northwestern seemed to go both-ways, accepting and denying outliers in both categories.
