High Income Stafford Loan?

If my parents make above 160k+ combined and if I dont qualify for any need based financial aid is a $7,500 stafford loan guaranteed? Im a community college transfer goin to a UC. My parents wont be paying much for my college tuition so just wondering

Yes. If your EFC is fairly high, it will probably be unsubsidized.

How would you pay the remaining costs?

If you file the FAFSA and are aid-eligible (U.S. citizen/Permanent Resident, not in default on federal loans, comply with any institutional requests for informatin, etc), you will be offered a $5,500 guaranteed loan as a freshman. $7,500 is for juniors and seniors ($6,500 for sophomores).

Quickly submit FAFSA for this CURRENT school year and take out the 6500 loan…and bank it for next year.

Then take out the 7500 loan. Work as much as you can this summer.

Are you commuting? If not, how will you pay for the rest?

did you apply to any CSUs that you can commute to?

My parents will pay for the remaining tuition after the 7,500. And i will be working too. Thanks for the reply.

Will you be a freshman? If so, your Direct Loan limit is $5500, not $7500.

Direct Loan amounts:

Freshman $5500

Sophomore. $6500

Junior $7500

Senior. $7500
