High rank but average SAT

My rank is like top 2% in my class. However my SAT scores are in the 40% in my class. Will colleges focus more on my high rank over my low SAT.

GPA 3.93 uw 4.34 w rank 4/217
SAT:1320 (MV) school avg: 1320. so 50 %

This is on an info sheet that is sent to colleges

The short answer: yes.

GPA is much more important than SATs.

Of course, if your SATs are TOO low, could hurt you for admissions into the top schools.

Only the top 30 colleges will care. You'll be fine at the others.

somehow i have a feeling that he's looking at top 30 colleges

Hope he's an athlete!

How competitive is your HS? Adcom could look at high rank as sign of easy school or under-challenged curriculum.

Considering the average is 1320 I'd assume the H.S. is reasonably competitive.

Yeah its competitive and yeah i am a athlete but not a recruited one except if I went to some small no-name which im not.

The 1320 will not get you in to an ivy or ivy like school, but your class rank will impress many good colleges. There are lots of really solid LACs. Bowdoin and Middlebury would be excellent (SAT optional) choices.

Retake oh ambitious one.
