High School Admissions Caps?

Does UF limit the number of students it will accept from each high school?

If so, is that number based on the number of applicants from that school, the overall size of that school's class, some combination of both or just a static number?

Thanks.

Usually only top Ivy caliber privates care about that. Because UF is a state school, they don't care much. Last year I think a little over 75% of people who applied to UF got accepted.

Off the top of my head I don't know the right figure but 75% is way high. This year there are 26,000 applications and only around 6700 are accepted.

About the high school quota I don't think there is one.

Looked it up: last year it was around 42%. Their yield was around 57%.

Well, there are a lot of students at my school that are very qualified. It's not exactly representative of the entire applicant population.

Some schools will have lots of qualified students and some will not. Many people choose not to apply to UF because they think their chances are slim. However, if you don't apply you'll never find out.

I have a feeling that UF's acceptance rate will be below 40% this year. The Yield Rate should also be over 60% as well.

Even still: UCLA is below 25% and UVA is around 28%. UF isn't nearly as exclusive as the other top Public Universities. IF UF was allowed to bring in more out-of-state students it would force the acceptance rate to drop considerably.

UF is allowed to accept more oos students, but they choose not to.

UF is allowed to accept more oos students, but they have decided not to.

Almost everybody from my school is applying, even if they have no chance =P
