High School Applications

Hi, I’m going into 8th grade next year and have a rough list of schools that I’d like to apply to: Brooks School (Day), Phillip’s Andover (Day), Phillip’s Exeter (Boarding), Governor’s Academy(Undecided), and St. Pauls (Boarding only).

What are my chances of getting into the above mentioned schools?

  1. I have attended a private school for my 6-8 grade years
  2. My older sister (going into 11th grade) attends Phillip's Academy (also, does this affect my chances at all?)
  3. I've played soccer for 5 years: GPS Elite (club soccer), my school's varsity team, my town's top team
  4. Basketball: 2 years
  5. Track: 2 years
  6. Taekwondo for about 6 years: 2nd degree decided black belt
  7. English: A
  8. Math: A
  9. Science: A- to A range
  10. History: A
  11. Speech and Debate: A+ (Pass with honors)
  12. Speech Team: 2 years
  13. Photography: 1-2 years (I'm going to compile a portfolio)
  14. SSAT (practice test): 89% - 95% (overall percentile)
  15. I attend Russian Math classes

Also, if anyone has tips on things such as essays, interviews, SSAT’s, and overall application process, it’d be much appreciated. Thanks!

Also, I’ll be applying for financial aid.

Firstly, you do have a little bit of advantage w/ Andover bc of your legacy/sibling status (be sure to thank ur sister :stuck_out_tongue: )
It seems as if you are really good at soccer… contact the coaches in all the school and maybe even send a demo of you playing… Coaches can have a lot of pull in admissions… Get the coach to advocate for you…Schools love to recruit and better their teams (just like college  )… Your EC’s are good but Taekwondo and Russian Math Classes (?) really sticks out… Photography is good… too especially if you have won any contest or awards… And if you have not… Enter a local one… Good Luck! :-bd
