So, senior year is coming up, and I'm kind of worried about my schedule! A lot of people at my new school are taking 1-3 APs, but when I talk to people at my old school, they're all taking 4-5 APs. The APs I'm taking are: AP BC calc, AP Physics C, and AP psychology...all of my other courses are honors classes.

I feel the pressure top take more APs, and now that I think about my schedule, I think I can probably switch up to AP English. However, I don't know if I want to because I have an extremely rigorous EC schedule, and I don't want to fall behind in anything. Yet...if I want to get in to an Ivy League (Cornell) or a school like Northwestern, do I need to have more APs?

You ARE competing against all other high school students when you apply to your colleges, so if you think you can handle AP English, then go ahead. If you’re doubtful about that, then you may not want to chance it.

Your counselor will still be able to say whether or not you have the most rigorous schedule at your school.

hmm. yes he/she is competeing against all high school students, but they want him/her to take as much as he/she can. If you feel like that’s all u cn handle, then that’s fine. AP BC calc, AP Physics C, nd AP Psych are all well-respected APs.
