High school diploma

How many colleges are there that don't require a high school diploma? Could anyone give me an approximate percentage or just describe about how many colleges? (Especially selective colleges, I know Yale is one school that doesn't require you to have a high school diploma)

And does not having a high school diploma affect you beyond getting into college for undergrad? Explain further.

I’ve hard of people going to Caltech without a high school diploma.

You really need a compelling reason to be applying without a high school diploma. It’s worse than graduating early.

Northwestern doesn’t require a diploma, and Macalester takes people with an equivalent.

Thanks, so aiginqf, are you saying that graduating early is bad too? I think it’s in the best interests of some people.

Well, for instance, it’s in the best interest of me personally, but you can’t completed 2 or 3 years of high school and think you’ll get into top colleges unless you have beyond stellar stats.

Oh ok. Well what about someone who graduated after 3 years of high school in the U.S., and then went to a high school abroad to complete senior year? That would count as 4 years right?

^
Typically that isn’t looked on well either, for one it’s hard to find a rigorous high school abroad program.
