High School Problems

Hello everybody I am an uprising 10th grader and I am very intelligent but that however matters not, I do however want to know what your opinions and what advice you may have for me pertaining to my situation. I attend GSMST (Gwinnett School of Math Science and Technology) the #1 school in Georgia and #3 school in the United States, I however flunked out of that school with a .86 GPA (roughly) and now attend Duluth High school. I Messed up at Duluth as well left with a 1.5 GPA from both semesters. (1st at GSMST 2nd at Duluth) My mother tells me that if I were to get 4.0 the next three years of high school I would only end up with a 3.37GPA from all 4 years. I’ve never been an straight A student, A’s and B’s easy peasy lemon squeezy but all A’s is intimidating. Plus I’m lazy, so my question is from fellow ADH and AD people (I don’t believe ADH and AD are disorders so no need for the extra letter at the end.) how do I become more motivated? Just throw any and all ideas out there!

The key to motivation…who is your peer group at these schools?

You have to know what you are capable of to be honest. For me, I get so hyped and motivated over trying to get an A for a class but end up with a B. Wanting it really bad doesn’t always work like that. You have to work hard, focus, and be interested in what you are learning. You have to be real with yourself and know what you are capable of so you can start with change instead of giving minimal effort. It is good that you are giving yourself high expectations but it is also important to realize that it is okay to not be perfect. Learning is suppose to be interesting and fun. You have to want it; and by the sounds of it you are looking for that motivation. I recommend giving yourself real expectations and working from there. Sometimes setting the bar to high can be challenging and make it feel impossible and then give up.
