I am going to be a junior this fall and I aspire to go in the medical field (especially neuroscience). So, I was wondering what sort of the summer programs I should do this summer. For example, should I apply to any online programs related to neuroscience at universities? Should I apply for residential programs where I would actually go to the universities? Also, how strongly is volunteering abroad viewed? My parents would not mind spending money if it is worthwhile, but I just do not want to spend my parent's money unless it could be useful both for my knowledge and experience as well as for college applications. So, what sort of programs would appeal to college admissions officers? Valuable suggestions would be appreciated!

ps. I am looking towards Ivy league universities and other top-tier universities.
