<p>As any one entered or gonna enter the Highlander Program? Is it true that you’re guaranteed admission to UCR by just applying for the program? Any info would be great.</p>

<p>Yes. I think it was around my junior year in high school when I first heard of this. Never did sign up because A was a too lazy. A couple of friends did and got accepted.</p>

<p>i'm thinking of applying but do any of you guys know that if once accepted, do you ABSOLUTELY have to go to UCR? or are we still free to look at our other options?</p>

<p>I ended up applying and was suprised at how easy it was. If i do get into the program at least i'm guaranteed to go to college somewhere.</p>

The application said it wasn't binding but if you decide to apply hurry cuz the deadline is July 14.</p>

<p>What is the Highlanders Scholar Program?</p>

<p>The Higherlanders Scholar Program gives guaranteed admissions at UCR for rising seniors who have:</p>

<ul>
<li>at least a 3.5 GPA (weighted)</li>
<li>at least a 1600 on the SATs</li>
<li>completed 13 of 15 a-g courses already</li>
</ul>

<p>They will notify people later in August or something if they were accepted or not.</p>

<p>did anybody get a phone call or a letter telling you that you were either accepted or rejected? cuz the website says that the decision should be out by the end of august</p>

<p>Nope. I called UCR, and they said that they would be sending the decisions out via snail mail. Plus, the guy said that they hadn't yet sent any out yet when I called (September 1st).</p>
