we're forgetting the most important celebrity to go to ANY school

Rivers Cuomo (lead singer of Weezer for all you who are "outside the loop" :p)- Goes to Hahvahd

...that was my main motivation for applying EA...I had fantacies about becoming best buds with him, and making it on to their new album...playing a little guitar, drummin a bit- and dare i say SING A SONG :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

freakish -- When would our assumptions about someone we don't even know or have no connection to whatsoever ever hurt anyone? It's not like they're terrible assumptions about her character or anything personal about her--Just whether or not she's going to Yale... If we were saying stuff like, "eww she's a b**** blah blah blah," then what you're saying would make some sense.

Remember that Natalie Portman was indeed famous before she applied to Harvard, but also remember that she was a straight-A student, got 1580 SAT and took 7 APs. She was one of those exceptionally smart stars. She also had participated in math tournaments in New York, which played a role in her admissions to Harvard.

I never said the assumptions were hurtful. I just think it is stupid to spout false information.

Who cares about Hilary Duff really

It's funny how this thread has had so many views.

I heard Natalie Portman graduated with Honors from Harvard--impressive. I was SO surprised though when I found out that Conan O'Brien was one of the top students at Harvard as well.

Honors at Harvard doesn't mean anything.

"Astoundingly, 91 percent of Harvard graduates leave college with cum laude, magna cum laude or summa cum laude inscribed on their diploma. Their percentage of graduates with honors are double, triple and even four times greater than other Ivy League colleges. For example, 44 percent of Princeton students graduate with honors; 25 at Columbia; 8 at Cornell. And at BU, 39 percent of students graduate with honors.

In a precedent established during the Vietnam War, Harvard has offered honors to all students with a B- average or above. Combined with grade inflation, the percentage of honors graduates is growing exponentially."

From the BU student newspaper

i did notice that. i was looking over concentration fields and saw stats of recent grads. a couple of majors i was personally interested in didn't have anyone graduate as just "regular."
