Hiring Michele Hernandez, worth it?

Hey guys,
I really don't know what to think/do right now so I was hoping some of your opinions would help me.
I got a copy of A is for Admission by Michele Hernandez and after I was done with it I looked her up online. Long story short I e-mailed her and we talked about how much her services would be. Now I can't decide whether to tell my parents or not, or even how to tell them I want $38,000. Are her services worth all that? Would it be selfish of me to even ask them? Should I just do it on my own or look for a more affordable college counselor? I've heard some people say that some of things she does are "unethical" why is that so?Any advice would help! Thanks!

Details:
-I'm going into 10th grade.
-My parents aren't from the USA so they don't know much about college admissions here. I'm pretty much on my own when it comes to college decision making.
-They would be able to afford it.

If you spend enough time on CC asking individual questions, you might get to keep your money.

Did she provide a breakdown of why it costs 38,000?

No, this is all it says on her website.
“All Tier I packages include unlimited time for parents and students from start (collecting materials and writing an in-depth evaluative report) to finish, culminating with completion of college applications and acceptance letters. Dr. Hernandez oversees everything from a customized reading list, help with all writing assignments in high school to course selection, testing schedule, summer activities, etc., all designed towards giving students that critical edge in the competitive admissions process. Packages are priced by the year the student begins: 8th grade, 9th grade, 10th grade, and 11th grade. Students and parents will work directly with Dr. Hernandez and space is limited and tends to get full well before senior year.”

What do you want to study?

Which State do you go to high school (public/private?).

How are you doing in school?

What colleges are you aiming for?

Have you found out how many students got into the colleges you want to apply to and what their profiles look like (if your school has Naviance, you can see that).

What race would you be classified as?

Have you talked to your college counselor at your high school?

What is your current GPA?

Take the template on top and fill it out and post it back on a chance thread before you spend 38K.
