Hispanic Scholarship Fund

Those of you that have received an email, could you tell me what does the hispanic scholarship fund cover? Is there some guidelines as to what a scholar has?

HI
For those that have been waist listed in the past… can you tell me if you in fact received any monies? I was waist listed this year, I provided them the financial, etc. info. I was requested. Now I"m wondering if there is a chance I’ll get anything.

Thank you for your time in reading and replying to my message.

Three kids and not one received anything.
We thought, with our middle daughter, that she would receive a $100 award because they emailed, at the beginning of the quarter, that there was some leftover money. So, dd went to the registrar’s office, and had her forms certified and faxed in everything. She received an email. Her email said something to the effect: “we were mistaken in our previous email, no further funds are being disbursed”.

Here is what we’ve discovered: if you are flat broke (your parents don’t own their home in the barrio) with STELLAR stats, and you were accepted to a prestigious university, you will get some funding.

If your parents own a home and you are low to middle income, your chances for funding are limited.

There are just too many hispanics, who need funding and the HSF can’t cover you.

So sorry @-) ; it’s a good theory, but in reality doesn’t work.
