Hispanic

<p>Being hispanic obviously gives a clear advantage in the admissions process. My parents are from Argentina and I identify with the hispanic culture. However, my skin is merely tan (racially most would call me white).</p>

<p>Is race a barrier at Wake? Do minorities get any strange (unwanted) special treatment? What I am basically saying is this: I am going to check in the box that I am hispanic, but will that be the end of it? Or will I start getting phone calls from hispanic organizations/letters of encouragement based on race?</p>

<p>There are always activities with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, and there are several international student organizations here as well. I have never heard any negative treatment- even casual or in passing- toward minorities. In the end, you decide how involved you'd like to be with these things:</p>
