Current students / parents;

I know you're looking at a 4.2 increase for the 2012 - 2013 school year. Is this pretty much an average increase or have you been seeing something higher or lower over the past few years? I'm working up my spreadsheet to calculate how much this whole thing will be costing me and want to include an accurate inflation number.

Daughter and wife are on their way to Troy for tomorrow's accepted student session. It's hard to believe that all of the unknowns over the last year will be decided by next weekend.

I’m heading to RPI in a few minutes myself, and am bringing government stats on tuition increases along as a talking point. Plug in your own institution, and look under the “Tuition and Fees” section

Fauster - well, since BillysDad handled the tuition part, I would just like to mention that, in doing your calculations, a lot of students move off campus after sophomore year, with a resultant large savings.

Also, you can save a lot of money by buying textbooks on-line - amazon, half dot com, etc.

Hope that helps.

Good luck.

Over past 10 years, the tuition rates in US increased about 52 %.
