Hey, does anyone here plan on going for/already going for a doctorate in history/philosophy of science? I'm a junior looking into possible grad programs. So far I am partial to Harvard and U. of Chicago, but I'm worried about my low GPA (3.2-ish) and lack of foreign language knowledge. I've read on various school websites that you need to know 2 foreign languages. Is this true, or can I take language courses early on in grad school while earning the MA? Aside from the disadvantages, my advantages are good letters of rec, and good writing samples. Mostly I just wanted to hear from others who are going in the history of science field and what their experience has been.
