Hmmm... originality present. What are my chances?

I don't really know where I would like to go... just somewhere competitive. The first part of the title pertains to the second part of the title... such an original topic, agreed? Here we go:

There are probably more things I could list. I can't think of anything else I would put down on an application. I'm a vegetarian, by choice 2-3 years ago. I lived my life the way I wanted to; I have never represented anything that was insincere. I hope I'd have good chances with the perfect ACT and devotion to hockey. Either way, I have no regrets. I'm very satisfied with my life at this point.

I'm most likely looking east coast, in the fields of Engineering and Physics (separately, or, potentially, Engineering Physics). I'd like to have both majors, although, depending on schools, it doesn't really matter. Any advice as to good schools in those regards would also be appreciated.

Thank you.

Sled hockey sounds like the sickest thing ever.

As for you’re grades, you’re somewhat of a manchild. Take those stats somewhere great, like California. Just don’t go Ivy. Unless you crave cutthroat competition, you’ll regret it later.

"seriously, i would consider just going your your local community college and then transferring to a small state school. With stats like those, its a miracle that you are even graduating high school. Maybe if you are lucky you could get into Arizona, but thats not on the east coast… Good luck though, community college could be a beneficial experience. "
I disagree, you look like you’re on the right track and you have a passion for hockey which is great when you translated it into community service and such. However, I do think you just need to up your SATs. You should be taking them at least twice.

Dear Demiitasse,

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sarcasm

See the part about understanding it.

Love,

homerslippers

And no, with a perfect ACT you won’t even submit the SAT.
But I’m not a fan of these threads, cuz what do we know?
So I’ll leave now.

But impressive accomplishments, no doubt.

Dear Homerslippers,

Boy do I love wasting time, space, and post counts.

Yours truly,

Demiitasse

I’m probably not submitting my SATs with a perfect ACT. And I’m pretty sure that BuddyMcAwesome was being slightly to moderately sarcastic.

But anyway…
Let’s keep it impersonal, and let’s keep it to chancing, shall we?

Gladly, permitting other parties do not provoke further biting remarks, ahem.

bumpp

Sorry though. I kind of overreacted too. :frowning:
I am a fan of sarcasm but not actually of insults and flame wars etc. so forgive me.
I just wanted to illustrate the point with a bit of sarcasm.
Sorry…
That’s what forums do to me sometimes.

Anyway, back to the point I think you have very good chances anywhere. With the combo of the “passion” (hockey) and the math + engineering e.c.s…you’re more than just the 36 ACT score + grades. I still don’t like these threads but I got wrapped up in this one, lol.

To homerslippers,

You may be my new best friend.

To OP,

I think your stats are awesome, and as long as your SAT IIs are on par with your other test scores, you are right on track for an Ivie/other top college.

Best of luck!

I think we all overreacted lol. Sorry, it’s been a crazy day, I kind of got too serious.

Intangible Gator, say what you want, but please keep in mind that we should all be contributing to threads and leaving at least some form of encouragement towards the poster of these chance threads! At least Homerslippers was humorously sarcastic. “Please quit posting and leave”? Pushing it to rudeness! You’re awfully audacious.

It was beautiful.
Also, homerslippers and I made nice =]
Aww poor anerkedpie. What a tangent we made.

What’s your UW GPA?

Look into Cornell Engineering. PERFECT, PERFECT fit for you (its hockey team is very good, and it is very strong in Engineering).

Looks like that could get you into any college you wanted to go to. Just pick one out and I’m 99% sure you’re in.

UW GPA is 3.91 with freshman year and 4.0 without.

If you’re on a 5 pt. weighting scale, my WGPA is a 4.71 with freshman year and a 4.90 without.

Sorry to bump… but could more people read and chance me please?

no, we can’t. sorry

Bump bump bump
