Hodgepodge of questions

1.) Can anyone tell me about the film and electronic art program/their personal experiences in it?

2.) What are the general attitudes of the students at Bard? I’m looking for a student body that is inquisitive, highly social and inspired.

3.) I’ll need some major financial aid to attend this school. What is everyone’s luck with receiving scholarships/help with financing at Bard?

4.) Why does the man on the Bard residence life page have an extraordinarily long torso? ===>[On Campus | Residence Life](http://www.bard.edu/campus/reslife/) BIZARRE.

Agree that the torso is VERY long! lol

If there are any Bard students out there, what schools did you turn down to go to Bard and why?

Re 2) That sounds like a pretty good description of a Bard student to me.

Re 3) D got decent aid from Bard - not the highest offer but not the lowest either.

4) I think his pants are just worn low!

1) I don’t know much about film other than I’ve heard mixed things about film (but mostly just that students tend to not enjoy going to the weekly screenings for their class). I’ve heard good things about electronic arts so far, but once again, I don’t know much/haven’t heard much.

2) I have yet to have a conversation in which I am not learning something to some degree, whether it’s music, mathematical concepts, philosophies (personal or referential), etc. I’m constantly in awe by how much other people know, and while it’s intimidating at first, it in and of itself is inspiring because then I want to research the topic more, thus I, too, become a mini-expert on whatever the topic was. Students enjoy continuing discussions from class outside of class, debating about lecturers and their claims, arguing their point on how wikipedia is the most anarchistic entity in society (for or against), etc.

3) I can’t help you much there. My roommate didn’t get enough aid, called Bard, told them what other schools gave her and that Bard was her first choice, and they gave her more money.

4) Kids at Bard tend to (look like they) have long torsos. It’s part of the hipster look, I guess. haha.

To go to Bard, I turned down: SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Geneseo, Goucher, and Grinnell.
