LAST DAY! FREE SHIPPING AT CAFE PRESS WITH CODE LASTSHIP

whew… all that yelling wore me out.

I got S a shirt that says something like: “Warning – Occupant may break into spontaneous song at any time” as well as a magnet for D, a mug for my brother, a shirt for my stepbrother, and a shirt for me!

Mezzo’s Mama – He will have to reach a certain level of piano for music education. With earphones, I would think keyboards would be OK. S would just have to remember not to sing… see above post. ;)

Thanks, MaryTN! Just ordered hoodies for my nephews. Funny - I created the order, and it said, $7.50 for shipping. Then I entered the code, and it said $5.75 for shipping, and deducted the $5.75. Wonder why the shipping charge was lower once they were giving it to me free.

CafePress 25% off all orders plus pay for standard shipping and upgrade to guaranteed delivery by the 25th at no additional charge. Code MERRY25

D and I took the plunge and went to the actual Tadashi store and worked with a woman who had experience choosing dresses for singers. D tried on ten and we got THE DRESS. I will wrap it for Christmas as a non-surprise. (but a fabulous gift nonetheless)

I did not realize that color would be an issue…but it was! I was not aware of the following:
No black (can’t blend in with the orchestra) no red (too hoochie-mama?) and no purple (Germanic color of death). She is blond and the blue is perfecto.

WOW, you have given me lots of ideas. My DD likes Broadway cast recordings. She also said she needed a long black skirt for performances (flute player) so we will probably go to our local wedding gown center and look for something she can combine with several tops.

She uses our Amazon account to download what she needs. We got her a portable hard drive so she could keep her music there that way she doesn’t have to go the library any time she needs music.

I like the idea of a good pair of headphones. She is taking her portable keyboard back to the dorms next semester. She said it would help with her music theory class.

Yes, I love the dress and the color. I have looked at several Tadashi dresses with my D in mind but they never have her size in my favorite ones. We don’t have a dedicated store near us.

Beautiful dress, and seems perfect for the occasion.

I can’t find prices on anything (for the dresses). Is this the kind of place where, if I have to ask how much, I can’t afford it? Just give me a ballpark figure - do I need to mortgage the house, or just sell a child?

Tadashi dress: $100-$500. Knowing your daughter feels like a goddess while wearing it for a performance: Priceless.
Aaah - what we do for our children…

Binx–try Bluefly.com and if you have a Nordstrom Rack–they carry. We spent around 300, but they had some on sale for 150 (reg 300) to 600 (reg 1400)–the higher price gowns were the “runway” collection and WAY out of our league.
The nice thing about the dress she bought, with an empire waste it allows for a nice fit, yet plenty of room to breathe and move. I thought the nicest designs were the black silk gowns and perfect for instrumentalists.
