My granddaughter will be 11 months old at Christmas.
I was thinking of buying one of these toddler towers for her but my mil said she might be too young.
Any insight? She has so much stuff and I thought it was cute

My grands all LOVE this as do Mom and Dad. They can share kitchen time and play happily while Mom and Dad prepare a meal or clean up.
MIL probably wants to buy it for GD herself, lol!
It looks great. And if itās too early, sheāll grow into it quickly.
GD was born in March, 2021 and she got one of these towers last year for Christmas. She loves it and often insists on having it pulled into kitchen from eating area so she can help.
Years ago we bought one of those big playground plastic cube toys when kids were three and almost 1. (Not sure how to describe it, but many families had them in 1990s. It came in big flattish pieces and you interlocked them. Included a slide from upper level about 2 feet high). Box said it was for ages 18 month and up, but our guy was really big for his age. A few weeks later I happened to see him on the top level, lean over the edge, accidentally flip off rotating to land on his back. Lesson learned. We disassembled and waited til he had better balance.
Re the amaryllisā they are toxic to dogs and cats so might want to be careful if your intended recipient has pets.
Christmas cactus might be a better choice. Christmas Cactus | ASPCA
Thanks for the warning. My cats are usually into any plant matter but never expressed any interest in any multiple amaryllis plants I had.
I am speechlessā¦
Very cool but who on earth has the room for that.
If you purchase 2 of them you could save $10.00!!!
I suppose thatās only $10 per 1000 piece puzzle. But WOW!
@deb922 Both my GDs have those and they get used daily. One GD eats many a meal standing at hers! Younger GD will have snack there, but also uses it to help with meal prep or art activities as it is by the island, a surface easy to clean.
I do worry about the tip factor, so the girls know they can not lean over the sides; rule is, both feet have to stay flat on the floor part. I am known to have a foot on the base, or a hand on the side if I am with them! I believe they both had them before they turned 2.
I know weāve had threads before on weighted blankets but thought Iād share that I have doing LOTS of research this weekend on one for my daughter. She wants one not for her bed for living room lounging and in her words āone that looks decent hanging around the living roomā - in other words, some weighted blankets are not super attractive!
I landed on this one. I wanted a chunky knit one but didnāt want to pay Bearaby prices (well over $230 for this popular brand). I got her the lap blanket size (50 x 60) and 10 pounds. A good entry level weight I thought. Iāve seen other reviews off Amazon for this one and when I ordered it there was a $20 coupon you could apply:

That looks nice!
Funny you mentioned weighted blankets. We got a ānot expensive oneā a few years ago for our son that he wanted. (It was $41 for a 15 lb 60āx80ā off Amazon.) DS really likes his (even with the glass beads, heās had no issues with it) and since we bought a new bed, we thought weād buy one.
We splurged on the Bearaby (early Christmas present to ourselves) and have slept with it for a week. I must admit Iām glad we finally tried a weighted blanket. DH and I are fairly active and although it might be a little bit āin our respective headsā, we feel it helps with the little aches and pains.
What weight did you get for sleeping? The Bearaby blankets are beautiful - I figure for a first entry into weighted blankets she (her and her BF) can try this one out and then get a feel for weight/size, etc.
We bought the 15 pound Tree Napper. Neither of us find it too heavy and we chose the Tree Napper, so we could use it more of the year. Also we chose two separate twins for the new king bed for flexibility. We werenāt sure how that would play out, but weāre very happy so far. Washing it was easy but it did take a LONG time for it to dry following their directions.
My college student asked for a clothing steamer. Any suggestions for one that works well but isnāt too big or too expensive?
When I was researching mine a few years back, I read it should be ~10% of your bodyweight. Mine is a little bit higher at 15 pounds, but I love it for sleeping when itās not hot. I love the look of the one you got!
I bought this one for my summer bride to take to her ādestinationā wedding to remove wrinkles from her and the bridesmaidsā dresses. It worked quite well!
Yes I had seen that 10% guidance frequently but also saw some personal comments that the 10% for some people felt too suffocating. This daughter tends to run hot and I could see too much weight being a turn off for her so I decided for lounging purpose to go with the 10lb. If it had been offered in a 12 lb I might have gone with that!
