Both of my D’s love the Sand Cloud towels we got for them last Christmas. We live near the beach and the towels get a lot of use and hold up very well and they love the fun designs.
So do they really shed sand? I see mixed reviews.
I have not heard either D say they had a problem with shedding.
I was considering the Lovevery boxes for grandson. Did you do Kiwi for the older grandkids?
I’m happy when my kids give me some ideas prior to Thanksgiving so I can take advantage of sales.
My oldest grandchild is 5. Did the boxes for her until about a year ago. She loved them, as did her parents.
For grandkids you might look at an old fashioned magazine subscription. My kids (now 18 & 21) loved the Cricket series of magazines.
GD is 4. Still doing the kiwi boxes. She loves them.
As a newish grandmother (GS will be 1 in January) I had never heard of either the Lovery or KiwiCo boxes and they both seem like a great gift. Now, I need to see which would be better? Thoughts??
Thank you for the idea!!!
I am not familiar with lovery, so can’t help there.
I have been looking at Owlcrate which seems aimed at older book readers. Has anyone had any experience with this place?
So, I have but one gift left, for a neighbor. I just don’t have the inspiration.
Almost everything mailed to kids’ house. I should add that only 8 people on the gift list.
About 80% done with gift purchasing and wrapping. Holiday cards are written out and addressed. I know it is very early but I find if I have the bulk of these things done before Thanksgiving then I can relax and enjoy the holidays!
Wow, I’m impressed. I’ve got a couple of things bought. I only buy for my kid and their significant others. This year I have a grandson to buy for but I’m waiting on my daughter to tell me what they want. I did buy him a few things from Hanna Andersson that I got on sale.
I’m done with my holiday shopping too. I despise going to the stores after Thanksgiving and prefer to shop in person so I start early.
Anyone have a good idea for my husband? Other than that, I’m done shopping. I need to head to HD on Friday and get a large roll of bubble wrap so I can send some gifts.
Thumper, I asked for a photo gizmo. Also, a wyze colored bulb or doorbell camera. I’d rather my son pick out technical stuff for me.
My husband is an engineer. I don’t pick out technical anything for him. I’ll figure something out…
I thought your husband was just getting reminders of your need for an Hawaiian vacation! Little umbrella drinks, a grass skirt, maybe a uke…
I’m starting the sub-thread of “I haven’t started shopping yet” - lol.
I personally appreciate not having to focus on the holidays for two months or more and while still working my time and mind space is more limited in thinking about holiday tasks. But you know what? Every year, it gets done. The shopping, wrapping, baking, decorating , and family time.
But I do enjoy reading these threads for ideas - even weeks/months ahead!
One of the best gifts we ever got my husband was a ukulele. He loves that thing. He basically stopped playing his guitars (electric and acoustic), and only plays that. As a matter of fact, he recently sold his remaining guitar, because he never plays it.
