Holy Cross Chances! (I'd really appreciate it!)

Alright, well I'm a white male from rural Pennsylvania.
I go to a tiny school, and because of the size, traditional AP courses aren't offered, but I'm enrolled in all of the highest level courses available.

My GPA is a 97% out of 100% (unweighted)
Top 5% of Graduating Class
SAT: Verbal: 690 Math: 620 Writing: 670

ACT: Composite: 29
English: 31, Math: 26, Reading: 31, Science: 27

I'm the President of the National Honor Society
Social Chair of Student Council
Secretary of Future Business Leaders of America
Six Year Soloist in Chorus, Select Choir, and Cabaret
I'm on a Ski Racing Team
and I've starred in several plays.

I've placed first in the region for my competitive events in FBLA for the past three years, and I've placed at the state level each time.

In the fall of my junior year I attended the National Youth Leadership Forum on Law in Washington DC.

And I'm also in the Gifted Program.

Because I go to a small school, my letters of recommendation are outstanding, but I just hope that the lack of AP courses offered doesn't hurt me in the long run.

What do you guys think my chances at Holy Cross are?

good, your stats are like mine. I love Holy Cross, but they do not offer my major :/

Very strong candidate for admission to Holy Cross. Credit as a lead actor can be a significant hook.

Thank you very much!

Do you think I'd have anyyy chance whatsoever at Pomona?
I know my SAT scores are lower than average, but they accept SAT or ACT, and my ACT falls into their middle I believe...

Just wondering!

my sister goes to holy cross and really loves it there.. and yeah, you have a reallly really good shot at getting in

Pomona is a long shot in light of your standardized test scores. The bottom 25% at Pomona typically, and rightfully, goes to disadvantaged but talented minorities. Why Pomona? You can try for Pitzer and, if admitted, take classes at Pomona. Pomona kids are almost off the charts intelligent as evidenced by GPA, accomplishments, and standardized test scores.

I have plenty of family that attended HoCro (including both parents) and I think you have a strong shot at gaining admission. Good Luck.

I'm a Holy Cross grad and do some recruiting and interviewing for The College. My daughter is a junior at HC and absolutely loves it. She is spending this year in Spain and that has been a fantastic experience so far.

I'd say your chances of getting in are good. I'd recommend a visit to campus and an interview. The interview will give you a chance to impress the admissions staff with things other than your strong academic qualifications. As well, you will be able to get a feel for the school and, most likely, fall for one of the most beautiful campuses in the country. There is a reason that Holy Cross graduates such a high percentage of entering students and for the very high student and alumni satisfaction with HC: you receive an outstanding education in a great atmosphere. Holy Cross "educates men and women for others". I wish you luck wherever you find your match.
