Holy Cross NPC

How accurate have you found the Holy Cross NPC to be? If you are an accepted student did it prove to be a good indicator of what you actually did receive?

Thanks! Rising Sr daughter in the fall, all new to this!

bump, anyone?

Not very good unless your an athlete or drop down from higher tiered school

Did you go to HC or send a student there? Was your experience with the FA package vs what the NPC estimated for you greatly different?

My students aid came in at 1/3 of HC NPC Guess they didnt want her, just my money:)

HC has a terrible reputation with aid unless the kid is an athlete and also has such strange deadlines. ED is 12/15 but the FA application is due 11/1.

We got our FA letter last week and it actually was better than the NPC. We were very happy!

Ours came in a few days ago, and it was identical to NPC. It is a Christmas blessing.

Guessing athlete or drop down from higher teir

My daughter’s matched the calculators…definitely not an athlete. Her friends was close too and she didn’t play any sports either. Bryn Mawr was off though and filled with many more loans, so it does vary how the 100% need is met.

Are you sure you don’t have a complicated financial situation? Do your parents have any savings or assets that weren’t entered in the aid? It just seems weird because most indicate that thy are very generous. Plus I don’t understand how they could claim to meet full need and then only meet 1/3 unless they found a different EFC than the calculator. I love Holy Cross but financial aid is important to me.

It was not complicated to the other schools which came in 80 to 105% of their NPC

Coming back to this to say our FA arrived the day before Thanksgiving and it was right at the NPC. We were ecstatic and she’s looking forward to attending (she is not playing sports for HC).
