The College of the Holy Cross is one of the most academically rigorous and best value colleges in the country, according to Newsweeks 2011 college rankings. Holy Cross was fifth in the nation for Return on Investment and came in at number 22 on the magazines Most Rigorous list.

Yes, I am an alumni and I can attest to the academic rigor, which is well recognized in the business world. Coming out with an Economics/Accounting Major I got offers from all of the top accounting firms (despite only having a 3.3, which would not make their cut at most other schools). Having said that, it was not a cutthroat environment in any way. Great professors, small classes, felt like a second family. Alumni are crazy about the school and their alumni giving rate is almost unprecedented!

My daughter has had some minor issues with HC, but no matter what, she has loved 99% of her professors and said they were wonderful. Some calls she would gush about them and how engaging they were, even in subjects she didn’t like as much.
Her GPA would be higher somewhere else, but many grad schools and employers know how hard they grade.
