Hi, I was waitlisted at Holy Cross and am still very interested in attending. I have kept in touch with the admissions office about once a week to reiterate my interest, have made it clear that I will most definitely attend if accepted, and have sent an additional letter of recommendation to the admissions office.

The admissions counselor has not given me any sort of indication of whether or not they will be going to the wait list this year, and I am beginning to get a bit restless--especially since we are now a full three weeks beyond the May 1st reply date.

Has anyone else had better luck in getting information from the admissions office?

Hey Meghan,

I am sorry that you are going through this. Holy Cross, as you know is a pretty competitive school and has in my experience turned down some kids that I thought really deserved to get in. Your best bet at this point would be to call the admissions office. I would try to do that tomorrow/today. The fact that they have not really replied to you may or may not be because they are no longer accepting people off the waiting list. There still is hope and your best bet is to call as sometimes during this time, they may be slow with emails.
Anyhow, if you do get in - congrats and if not, I’m sure you’ll find the right school. I believe that this year was the most competitive year for admissions since the class of 2016 was a very large incoming class and therefore, they had less room. If you want to talk more, feel free to PM me! Good luck no matter where you end up!

Thanks for the response, tab0987. The admissions office called this afternoon and offered me a place!

Yay! Congrats and welcome to Holy Cross! I’m actually a rising sophomore at the college so let me know if you have any questions!
