I’m currently homeschooled in high school, but I’m thinking about going to public school next year.
My courses have been created from textbooks and various online resources. I have an unaccredited transcript, made by mom.
If I transfer to public school, would I have to take any tests to earn credit for the classes previously taken? I know that I should be asking the school itself, but I just want to know your experience with this situation.
Thank you for your time.
(Edit)
I also plan to take classes at my local college.
If they don’t grant my homeschool credit, would I still be able to graduate from a public high school?
Graduation requirements will depend on your individual high school and state. What state are you in?
I have taken the necessary requirements so far, aligning with my grade.
I’m from Ohio.
Look at the education requirements for your state. In NY, homeschooled students may have to take placement tests for math but I’ve never heard of any tests being required to receive credit for courses already completed.
According to Ohio’s FAQ on the Dept. of Education website, it says that the superintendent will decide which credits may be applied for graduation.
I think this is what I’ve been looking for, thank you for your answers.
