Honors College/Top Scholars Class of 2024

Wow! That is promising, and I appreciate your quick reply and feedback! Thank you so much for your kind words and taking the time, and I am so happy that all worked out best for your daughter (and son too)! : )

Hello, congrats on your son being a McNair scholar! I am currently a candidate who was accepted into honors college in December and Top Scholar notifications come out soon. Since your son is a Top Scholar, could you please tell me any types of questions or how the interview went like for him to decide to be a McNair? Thank you

Congrats tennismmobile on your acceptance to the Honors College and I hope you are invited to be a Top Scholar!!! It was a three day event and really is what made my son decide to go to U of SC. It was VERY laid back and much of the time was spent with the staff at U of SC sharing with the students what it meant to be a Top Scholar. They reviewed what opportunities they would have, what support they would have, and all of the wonderful opportunities available. The last part was “an interview” but my son said the team really just wanted to get to know him better and answer questions that he had. He left that weekend ready to commit to U of SC. He committed to U of SC before he had even heard from Duke and other schools. He has many close friends who are Top Scholars and the support has been truly remarkable. They helped him with internships, classes, studying abroad and so much more. It has truly been a blessing. Good luck and congrats on getting into the Honors College. It is something really special.

What did you like best about capstone? What are the requirements for students to remain part of the program? So capstone students take part of the campus bar scene?
