Can anyone comment on the workload of the honors college at USC; is it really much harder than standard classes?

My son is in his 3rd year of the honors college at SC. With a few exceptions (Biology, Calc) he has found these classes quite similar in difficulty to his non-honors classes. Some of his favorite classes he has taken have been in the honors college. (Football Writing taught by author of Spurrier biography)
Just out of curiosity what is your son majoring? I’m taking AP Bio this year and absolutely hate it and am hoping to avoid as many science classes as possible haha.
