I am pretty impressed by the requirements for freshmen entering the honors college. Does anyone have any information about this program?

I'm in and probably going unless UT, UF, or A&M really doe out the cash. I think it's like a 30 or 28 maybe to get in. So if you're in you should automatically get the Centenial Award, which with TOPS makes it not bad. I'm assuming you're from LA since you're interested here. I know it's probably not the elitist school in the nation, but with an LSU degree, almost everyone in New Orleans went there so job placement should be nothing. It's probably held in equal accord to a Tulane one for those bosses who went to LSU.

I'm a parent, not from LA actually, but my kid is interested in the music school there. He has an academic scholarship and it includes Honors college. We visited recently- beautiful campus. Our problem is that the music school, which is outstanding, might not allow a dual degree easily, so that is a major consideration.

Jax: what area of music is your son pursuing?
