Hey, you're welcome. That's a valid concern, but I personally know a bunch of engineering majors who are involved with LEAD Scholars and they seem to not have any problems. One of my roommates was a LEAD Scholar, an engineering major, in the Honors College, and in the Marching Band. He enjoyed it so much that when his brother started going to UCF, he suggested for the brother to do the exact same thing (and now they're both in LEAD!). Heck, I even know a girl who's double majoring in math and music and is in Honors and LEAD and she's able to effectively balance all her obligations. LEAD requirements and opportunities tend to fit into your schedule pretty well. Plus, I personally have found LEAD classes to be a great break from the normal routine of classes here at UCF. It's refreshing to be in a class where the primary goal of the professor is to make you learn and enjoy the class, as opposed to getting a paycheck and getting out.

Again, each year there are about forty students who drop out after a semester or two because they couldn't make time for it. It's not like they suffer any consequences for having done LEAD Scholars and left the program... they just don't get to enjoy the full benefits. I would go for it if I were you. If all else fails, you can drop it, but I'm confident that if you make an effort to get involved in anything you will find LEAD to have been invaluable to you throughout these college years.
