Is being from Minnesota helpful in admissions? Maybe not a hook necessarily, but a bump up?

Not as big a bump as N. Dakota :)

Being a 235 lb TightEnd with soft hands from Minnesota that can run a 4.6-40 is a definite hook. :D

Being from MN is probably more helpful in getting accepted than being from an over-represented state such as NY or MA but, at the end of the day, it will be more about your stats and resume during your HS years than where you happen to live.

Dang it. I’m only a 6’ 5" 230 lbs TE with a 4.8 40 and have hands with the consistency of stale marshmallows. UPenn is actually recruiting me pretty heard, but I love BC. If ivies gave scholarships I’d be down, but BC is awesome.

yes, the Ivies don’t provide athletic scholarships, but they do have very generous need-based aid. So, depending on your household income, Penn could be a great deal financially.

good luck

I don’t know if this helps in any way, but my brother was recruited by UPenn and for baseball and is currently in his junior year there and they definitely provided very very generous financial aid for my family who is middle-upper middle class.

Ya I’m looking to go into finance so Penn could be awesome… But I also love BC. But thanks for your advice guys!!

How about coming from Washington State and being African-American w/ Nigerian heritage?
