<p>Low income is, in fact, a hook at top schools as it means the applicant is given fewer opportunities to achieve.</p>
<p>Cool that means I have a hook. I thought that I would never have a hook being a south asian guy who over-represented in top schools.</p>
<p>Many schools are need blind in their evaluation of applications. Meaning, they don’t consider whether or not you will be able to pay tuition when they’re deciding whether or not to admit you. After you’re admitted they will try to give you the necessary financial aid.</p>
