Hey there,my name is Kebreht ( I prefer Kebbie) Walker and I am from Newburgh,New York. I hope to attend ASC in the fall . I was looking to talk to other 2014 students as well as other Scotties! I have a question: If you applied under Scholarship Decsion, when do you find out if you've been accepted? Hope to get some responses.
-Kebbie

Hi Kebbie! I’m Tasy I applied to Agnes Scott under the January 15th Scholarship Decision. I think I’ll find out in April.

Things I Like About Agnes Scott

Small Size = Intimacy

Gorgeous Dorms/Campus

In-Depth Programs (Esp. Philosophy --my intended major)

Things I Don’t Really Like

ASC Is not well recognized outside of a small surrounding region

I’m not sure what the pre-professional counseling is like.

Small size may mean a sacrifice in a lot of things.

No guys…at least not on campus

I applied Early Action. I like its small size and LAC environment. I’m hoping for merit aid- won’t hear back until March.

Hey guys, nice to meet you all. I talked to Admission today and those who applied for Scholarship Decision will hear back in the beginning of February! Have you guys looked all other colleges? What do you want college life 2 be like? I’m just over high school drama. I want something real you know?

Hi all, My daughter is a first year at Agnes. She loves it. There is lots to do on and off campus and the “guy” issue is not a big deal. She and her friends all have guys they are dating. There is some socializing at Georgia Tech but it seems to be more for those into the party scene. I know there was a bit of drama with a few girls in her dorm but that is going to happen anywhere. She and her friends just moved on and found other people to hang with. So far she loves her teachers and they seem to be easy to contact and get to know. There are many, many ways to meet people and get involved on campus. I asked my daughter if it bothers her that she knows lots of students already and she said no, she actually likes it. They often study together and she eats lunch and dinner with different people depending on her schedule. Decatur is a really fun town with lots of restaurants but the Marta will take you to downtown and you can enjoy even more activity there. As far as scholarships I think my d got a letter in late Jan. and then was invited to a scholars weekend in mid March where she had an interview and earned even more money. You should hear soon. I wouldn’t worry about the prestige…really not that important in the grand scheme of things and you might be suprised about what great things are happening at Agnes that more and more people are becoming aware of.

I’m over high school drama too. I’m just hoping that I’ll go to college with other students truly interested in learning. I have looked at a lot of other school, and have yet to visit Agnes Scott’s campus- I might do that after hearing about scholarship stuff.

I was accepted EA. I shall visit soon. Unless my visit is horrid, Agnes Scott will remain one of my top three choices.

congratulations, your visit will be awesome. I visited in November and completely fell in love with it. Trust me, you"ll adore it. The rooms are huge and gorgeous, tall windows, very very chic. I think ASC is one of the best kept secrets in Georgia. Anyway, congrats on your acceptance I hope to get mine soon, and I hope when visit Agnes Scott, you"ll know that she’s for you. Just as I do :)

hey I got accepted Im so excited!!!

oh wow congrats there!!! i’m waiting, i applied RD international

hey guys! i got in too:D i am so excited this is my first decision:)))

Congratulations to all who got in. Did anyone get any scholarship info yet?

no scholarship info yet. my letter said that all merit or need based aid decisions are mailed end of march

I feel a little silly asking the same question over and over, but money is a real consideration here.

I got in too :-).

I got my acceptance letter yesterday. I was invited to the scholarship weekend to compete for more merit aid but as of now I am guaranteed a 16000/year scholarship. Not sure if that makes Agnes Scott affordable or not. I’ll have to wait until I here back from fafsa.

Congrats to everyone else.

My d was accepted as well! Her first acceptance, and also with an invitation for the scholars weekend!! She’s very happy but still has 10 more schools from which to hear. Congrats to everyone who gets into ASC.

$16K is a good scholarship. Congratulations. Isn’t that half tuition?
When is the scholarship weekend (which I guess D did not get invited to)?

The first is Feb. 28-Mar 1st. Then I think there is one for other admittees the end of March.

Yes, there’s something called “achievement weekend” or something like that at the end of March. I am not sure if D is going to go then or not. There is another one at the beginning of April (which I guess is for everyone) which looks like better timing for D. She may go to that one.
