Im a pre-med student looking for a hospital to volunteer at in Boston for my four years at college. Does anyone have any suggestions for which hospitals are good with maintaining relationships with long term volunteers, such as providing letters of recommendation for medical school, or for example allowing students to develop relationship with the doctors/nurses they see all the time during their shifts? I know some hospitals volunteer programs are rather disorganized and dont get to see what work students are doing, making it hard to get to know them. any suggestions are helpful, thanks in advance!

Best to contact the hospitals directly. Are you an undergrad H student? You seem to be too concerned with your future recommendations than the actual experience of volunteering. Most likely your grades and MCAT will be far more important to eventual med school admissions.

While I agree with the above comment, I think this has some information that you are looking for:

For more detailed information, I think you should ask older friends who are also pre-med and have tried volunteering at various hospitals. You should consider the time it will take to commute back-and-forth from campus to the hospital, the atmosphere at the hospital, etc. that aren’t necessarily apparent or immutable depending on the student.

Best of luck!
