I've been debating between a double and a quad as well. I might choose a quad because I get to meet more people and (hopefully) get a festive common room. :) My friends suggested that I get a single so that I don't have to deal with the "frustrations" of a roommate but....I don't really want one. I'll probably end up choosing a quad. :D

As for the boys getting drunk more often than girls, imo, I think it's true. As long as people (who are drunk) don't try to kill themselves or ruin any of my belongings (or anyone else's), I'm good. If they make so much noise that it provides horrible studying conditions...there is always the library. :)

sky9073: How....generous of you (to share your suffering with others). -_- lol.

I knew you were joking, hence the "lol" at the end of my sentence. I agree about the nuances. I usually put "lol" at the end of my sentences if I'm attempting to be sarcastic (I guess I failed miserably). Hmm...it seems my "wonderful" method didn't work...

someone should develop a system of online abbreviations to denote the intentions of comments (or we can just all agree with sky - which i do - that online communuication is simply inferior :))

There's a bubble for 2 or 3 roommates, and a box for 4 or more. Which should I fill in to get a quad? If I fill in the 2 or 3 bubble isn't there a good chance of getting a 3 person setup? (which I don't really want) Gahhhh... so much stress. And I haven't even looked at the couse selection thing yet!

What are your opinions on sub-free housing? I can't decide if I want to go that way or not. I'm not a huge party or drinking person, but I don't want to be isolated either. What are your thoughts?

I really don't think going sub-free will leave you isolated, though. I mean, you're allowed to be engaged in the party scene just like anyone else, just... not not use your room for it. For me (also not a really big party person), that's ideal.

The major advantages of sub-free are 1) quiet and 2) bathrooms that are always clean. Plus, you're more likely to get roommates whose lifestyles are compatible with yours.

Doubles and quads are far more common than triples and quints.

If you get a bunk bed, which is fairly likely, you will learn to live with it. When you're really exhausted, you'll fall asleep so quickly that you won't even notice what kind of bed you're sleeping on.

...That is, until you fall out of the top bunk and fall eight feet through the air and wake up real suddenly...
