I was wondering when/how to fill out the Housing Appeal form. I was recently admitted to NC State, and I am not planning to live on campus. I do qualify for one of the housing exemptions they listed at this link: https://housing.dasa.ncsu.edu/incoming-students/get-started-with-university-housing/live-on/first-year-housing-appeal/
How would I go about filling out the form, and do I still have to provide reasons if I meet one of the exemptions?
I don’t have any specific reason for not wanting to stay on campus except for one of the exemption reasons. Also, the exemption reason I fall under explicitly states “No supporting documentation required”, so I am wondering if I should lie and write a paragraph or two in addition. Any help appreciated.
Don’t start off your time at State by lying.
@DecideSomeHow Really asking if I should fill out the reason box and provide an additional paragraph of reasoning, I do have a legitimate and truthful reason to stay off campus that is reflected in NC State’s exemption form.
If your reason is reflected on their form why don’t you just pick that option? And if you meet the requirements to be eligible for that option why would you have to lie?
Yeah I picked that option, wasn’t sure if that option alone would confirm a waiver or if I had to provide any additional reasoning.
@stuckinthefuture How did you end up submitting the appeal form, did you provide any additional information?
And to answer your question @austinmshauri I am planning on picking that option, and just not providing additional information.
Update: There is no additional materials/paragraphs to submit for age-related requests. Thanks to those who helped out.
DID you enroll before requesting exemption. What if it is denied ?
