I'm just curious what you guys are putting down for bed times on the housing application.

Before 10, 10-12, and after 12 seems really vague to me. I'm more of a morning person, and usually go to bed between 10 and 10:30. However, this will probably change in college. I wish I could check "between 10 and 11" but that isn't an option.

My mom wants me to check "before 10" on the housing application, but I'm worried that I'll end up with some nerd who wants to go to bed at 9pm every night, when I'll probably start staying up later as it's college and whatnot.

Any ideas about this? What did you guys put down?

Hey Brett, I'm in the same boat as you. I normally go to bed between 10 and 11 also, but I put before 10 anyways, just because I figured that if you put 10-12, you can get stuck with someone where 12 turns into 1 which turns into 3 and the next thing you know you're not sleeping at night. In this situation, better to be safe than sorry, at least that's what I thought.

When you enter UCLA, expect to sleep later than you normally would, especially if your class schedule accomodates it. I used to sleep at midnight in high school, but when once those CS programming assignments were assigned my roommate and I would often end up sleeping at around 3:00 AM. Pick the latest time-slot that you would expect in college.

yeah - even in high school, I didn't go to sleep until 1-2 am, but now I'm consistantly going to bed between 3 and 4. My roommate, however, goes to bed consistantly at 11, and I absolutely can't stand it! Its a pain because after he goes to sleep we have to have the door closed and the lights off and its just not convenient at all for me. So attempt to choose accurately (at least for your roommate's sake :p), but realize that you will probably be going to bed later than you do now.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. During high school, I went to sleep consistently at 11 everyday, and I thought I would continue that for sure at college. Yeah, right. Now its somewhere around 2...

I went for the earliest time, simply because I don't want to be stuck with someone who is typing away while I'm trying to sleep. If he goes to sleep before me, I'll just finish my work in the lounge.

goodness such early birds you all are. i go to sleep on average at 1 or 2 AM. i hope my roomate--and floor is the same way because late night conversations are the best :) and it's always more fun to pull all nighters when you know somebody else is in your same position.

Me too Allena. Even when i have to open at work (which generally means 4 or 4:30 am twice a week), I cant usually sleep until at least 1130. If im not working, sleep doesnt happen until at least 1.

I usually sleep at:
9 pm if I have home work
11 pm if I have no work
1 am if I am watching a movie
3 am if I am playing games on the comp or game cube.

I was a tough decision for me but I put 10-12 for my sleeping time.

No you dont. Im sick all the time. Ive always been a night owl but combined with crazy work hours and super school stress its out of control. I'm pretty close to complete emotional and physical burn out right now.

Believe me. If I had no choice but to sleep early (due to simply not being able to stay awake), I would probably be better off.

Oh wells. 4 more weeks and then I have like 3 1/2 months to do nothing and sleep all the time. yay.

Yeah... I guess I should be thankful that thus far I've managed to manage my time well enought to pretty much always get 8 +/- hours of sleep per night.

Who knows what will happen in college though...
