wait are u guys in special programs?
is that why you guys have priority?

Haha yeah I’m in a program

they’re all afraid of having to live with people not like them

LOL, not really. Like some people are in the quiet program because they don’t want to have LOUD BLASTING MUSIC NEIGHBORS. Or they want to venture into their themes and stuff. OR they are part of the honors program (ISHP?) which is automatically Thompson Hall.

It’s just what people want to do. Themes are just ways for people to explore deeper into the certain theme.

I’m not afraid of meeting people outside of my theme, but I would just want to know more about engineering. :]

Not that it’s relevant, but ISHP is Miller Hall and DHC is Wall Hall, haha (:

Oh my bad, thanks for the correction :]
And Engineering ATP is Tercero Pierce K.

Did you all fill out a personality survey or something else that lets Student Housing match roommates? I don’t remember doing anything for housing besides numbering living preferences.

I got my housing assignment! Now it’s time for… fb;lol
and yeah, I’m in a program;I didn’t do a personality survey or anything like that though.

they better not group ppl by major because i am an engineer and there are barely any good looking girls from my major

hahaha!! ^^
WOW lol

& yeah so does everyone find out tomorrow or later on today or what???
Does anyone know?

did anyone outside of programs get their housing assignments yet?

I noticed the link to check my housing info on MyUCD has disappeared if you count that as progress (no program).

LOL apparently the assignments weren’t supposed to be released, it was a glitch

Yah I can’t check my housing info on MyUCD either. It’d serve us wonders if Davis could have just said it comes out on August 31st instead of this check from mid-late august BS. Makes everyone less stressed that way…

Nooo! Now we don’t get it until August 31st? D:

i know the dorms are coed (the floors i mean), but are any rooms coed as well? like do they even allow rooming in a double with a girl?

i was going to but she had to wait to turn it in.

I don’t think you can get coed rooms…

In anticipation of your arrival I wanted to make you aware of a number of things that have transpired during the summer that may impact your housing assignment:

If you attended summer orientation you are aware that several construction projects are taking place on campus, including the building of new residence halls for 600 incoming students. At this time we continue to expect these buildings will be completed by opening weekend. However, if they are delayed, our contingency plan will be to provide temporary accommodations to the impacted students by converting double rooms in other residence halls to triples. Students who will be impacted will be notified by Monday, September 13th.

Our anticipated enrollment for this coming year has exceeded our expectations. We are extremely pleased that UC Davis is a popular choice for students and their families. However, the Segundo life/safety project which includes the addition of sprinklers to our high rise buildings, required that we take 800 of our residence halls beds off line for this academic year. Thus, the increased demand for on campus housing has exceeded our anticipated planned capacity. Again, we have a contingency plan that will provide additional housing for students by increasing occupancy in rooms and utilizing our plaza suites.

^-------via e-mail. So in other words, be prepared to be stuck in a triple even if you signed up for single or double :(

drats. oh well

what happens, happens ~

Hopefully, if they do stick us in triples, they’ll be giving us the triple fee…I can see them pulling some crap like “it’s just temporary so you’ll still pay the higher price”. :|

The part that worries me is their mention of the suites. We’ve got so much extra room that I think they may hit us first. Darn.
