If I am unhappy with my housing, how inclined would Vandy Housing be to satisfy my wish to change? I was placed in currey hall (kissam) in a single which is not what i want at all...

There will be a room change request period that will begin in the second week of September. You’ll list where you would like to move and why. These requests are taken under consideration, but rarely filled. Priority is given to students with health, or dietary concerns, as well as freshmen who were not placed on the commons (probably not an issue anymore).

Keep in mind this is based on availability, and housing doesn’t OWE you anything. I say this because based in my experiences many students feel that they are entitled to what they want, not where housing has put them. (Not a slight or judgment on the OP just an observation.)

My D had a heck of a time getting a room change last year. There was a mix up and housing placed her & the roommate she requested in doubles next door to each other. They immediately contacted housing and began to work on getting into the same room. It was NOT easy, although they were successful. Their reason was pretty understandable … after all, they did request each other. Yet they had a very tough time. It’s fine to try to get a dorm change; just don’t expect it to happen.
