how is everyone choosing their roomates
and which are the best dorms for juniors?

@ellomeno: Room mate options usually fall under two options. The first option is that you and another person decide to room together and forego Pepperdine’s assistance in setting you up with a random room mate. To do this, you and your desired room mate would write each other’s Pepperdine email in the housing request application under the heading “Roommate/Apartment-mate/Bathroom-mate Preferences.” Remember, in order to successfully be paired up/roomed together, you must all write each other’s email addresses and the request must be mutual. If you choose to have Pepperdine match you up with a room mate, they’ll go by the preferences you outline during the “Lifestyle Preferences” portion of the housing application. Recently, Pepperdine has implemented an application to assist in finding potential room mates based on interests, etc.–I myself have not used this app, but again if you found someone using this source, you’d both have to mutually write each other’s Pepp email to be roomed together. You can read more about this new system using the following link:

As far as undergraduate housing goes, I’m guessing you’re transferring/entering as a junior. I don’t quite remember if you are given the option to choose your housing option as a transfer student–I know freshman, sophomore, and junior transfers who were all given suite-style residence halls (typically given to continuing freshmen/sophomores) for their first term at Pepperdine. Anyway, juniors typically choose to live in apartment style housing. On campus this correlates to the Lovernich Residential Complex or the Honors Apartments located on the Drescher Graduate Campus. Other students choose to live off campus at a handful of apartments ranging in distance from Santa Monica to Zuma Beach as well as Agoura Hills and Calabasas. The Honors Drescher Apartments are probably the best housing option on campus; that being said, applicants must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA to be considered for application. In addition, applicants must either be 21 years of age or have completed at least 60 units to qualify for Drescher Apartments. Heres a brief layout of the Drescher Apartments:

Keep in mind that each housing option has different rates; you can find all the information regarding the rate for each housing option using the following link:

The Lovernich Apartments are another alternative for housing; the only different between Lovernich and Drescher is that you share a room with another person instead of each having your own separate room. The Lovernich Complex is also a tad older, though they do offer renovated Lovernich rooms at a higher price. The Pepperdine housing and residential life website offers a layout for the Lovernich Apartments as well as the suite-style dorms; you should definitely browse through each layout before you make your decision. When youre filing your housing request, Pepperdine allows for up to five different housing preferences just incase your first choice is already full. Hope this helped, let me know if you have any other questions!
