Housing...

Whatever you want to say about housing. Where are you applying? Which is the best deal? Etc.

I'm thinking of going for Heritage Halls. I looked on the campus map and it's near the middle of campus so I'm guessing it'll be easier and more comfortable than living in, Wyview Park say. It's also a lot cheaper than Helaman Halls, for much of the same services.

I applied for heritage too. Wyview is my back up

hey trishalynn
i heard from some current BYU students that it's really hard for freshmen to get into heritage.
you'd have to join freshman academy to get priority housing and priority classes.
it's free and easy to do. just fill out the application and if you do get accepted to BYU, you'll automatically get accepted to freshman academy. i'd suggest you do it early as possible. just in case.

Freshman academy does give you priority classes. But our local BYU rep said that housing preferences is determined by who logged on first. Its a first come, first served thing. Plus Heritage and Helaman are both almost exclusively freshman. It's almost impossible for upperclassmen to get housing. My freshman schedule is probably going to be really unique because of the college classes I've already taken and my major so I don't really fit into any of the freshman academy groups. When do we find out what housing we got (or didn't get)?

why wut's your major?

That's funny. When I lived in Heritage two years ago my ward was almost completely upperclassmen. I hated that because I was a freshman and all of the other Heritage wards were freshmen wards. Make sure you don't request honors housing if that is still an option.

which meal plan do most people have at heritage halls?
i'm trying to decide between the dining plus and the heritage classic - basically i want to know if most people at heritage make their meals or buy their meals. anybody know?

hey flipchick1127
why shouldn't we request honors housing?

I plan to get a meal plan that only gives you one meal and day and I'll make the rest. But thats just cuz I like cooking. Most people don't. Btw, Its a Double European studies and French major with a minor in Italian.
