I've been taking SAT practice tests from the blue book and so far I've gotten good results, however I've heard rumors that the practice tests are easier than the actual tests. Can I expect similar scores on the actual test? How have your scores compared to the practice tests? Also I'm wondering if there is a difference between the quality of the tests for the second edition study guide and the fifth edition. Is the second edition still reliable, or is it better to use the more updated book?

The difference between your scores on official tests and the test you will take will be trivial. Do not focus on the :scores" but on how well you perform. Your objective is to cover all bases and avoid surprises. The more recent the test, the closer to future tests it will be. Pay attention to the discussions of tests in the past year, and try to secure the QAS versions.

Even if the original BB is not perfect, it remains the best overall choice is a sea of useless wannabe tests. Most people will score a bit lower but nerves and a new environment play a larger role than anything new on the test.

Again, just go through your preparation and do NOT focus on your scores. And for the reason, that you should NOT spend much time working through entire 4 hours ordeals, but on sections only.

Thank you for the advice! I’m mainly wondering about the reliability of the blue book because I’ve also been taking a few Huntington SAT prep classes in which I’ve been told that the second edition blue book is out of date so naturally I panicked thinking that I’ve been wasting my time on easier tests. Of course, I understand the importance of covering all the bases, but every now and then I like to take a practice test to get an idea of where I’m at and I’d like to be sure that how much I believe I’ve improved matches how much I’ve actually improved. Thanks again for replying though! Also, just wondering, what does QAS stand for?
