Thanks guys!

Also, I’m fairly certain your C’s will keep you out of any ivy’s. You said that you didn’t even know if they will see the Cs… but they will. Also, I think you need to do some research on what kind of person gets into Ivy league schools, it’s not just a “slightly above average” person. You would most likely be one of the top kids in your grade to get into one of those schools.

OP… you are asking people for their opinions on how you are doing. If they tell you something that you don’t like, you basically call them a “pos” and don’t listen to them. You’re obviously only listening to what you want to hear.

You can’t just say that the B in Honors Chemistry should be an A. Admissions sees that as a B and they will not see the class average.

Another poster put up your PSAT scores in the thread I think it said you had 49s in both CR and W? If you’re majoring in english a 490/800 is just not going to cut it. Even if you managed to bring up your predicted 290/490/490 to something like 650/730/730 (which is an enormous leap), you still would have very minimal chances, people with much higher scores and GPA get rejected from these schools. We have no information on your ECs, or the one that you spent an “EXCESSIVE” amount of time on that hindered your performance.

I know that I’m capable of, you don’t. You never read any of my essays, or anything of mine for that matter. You can slam me all day with “you’re never getting into the Ivy League” blah blah blah, but that won’t stop me from trying. BTW, “You said that you didn’t even know if they will see the Cs… but they will.” <<< Of course I know that if I score a C, they will see it. But that’s just the thing. They won’t, because I got help from a tutor and now I really understand the material. It all depends on the midterm that I take tomorrow. If I get an 85%, they won’t be seeing any C’s.

The discussion is over.

Wait… If you know what you’re capable of, and we don’t… why are you asking for our opinions?

and either way, you still have more Bs than As, and will most likely have a 3.6 GPA max. Also, what APs are you taking?

I think he expected everyone to say that he’s a shoo-in for ivies, when he clearly would be at the bottom of the bottom of the applicant pool. He could make it into some SUNYs and CUNYs, but not any ivy or top 20 college.

or he’s a ■■■■■

If you say we just don’t see what you are capable of from the information provided, will the good folks at admissions be able to see it?
Good essays alone won’t cut it.

you are doing good man.Keep it up

I actually know OP somewhat personally, outside of CC, and it is a SHE and NOT a ■■■■■.

Hopefully she will choose to aim for a more realistic college, then get into an Ivie or the like to grad school.

thanks miles, that’s my plan I probably can’t afford the Ivies anyway…

I have to agree with everyone here, but it seems that you’re adamant on applying to the ivies. Just apply, nobody really cares. If you by chance get accepted, it’ll be good news for you. If you don’t, it’ll just be a waste of $75.

However, I will tell you that with those stats, there’s a verryyy slim chance of your being accepted to Dartmouth - or any ivy league school for that matter. Remember that there’s nothing wrong with going to a normal public college.

don’t give up
